After the implementation of new education act, class 9 to 12 are considered as the secondary level education in Nepal. Secondary education in Nepal are classified in three groups general, technical and traditional. Secondary education system with be one way that means there will be no science and management streams rather all classes of 11 and 12 will have same number of periods but students are given choice to choose their subject of interest. There will be 3 compulsory subject whereas 4 optional subjects. In optional subjects students can choose the subjects of management as well as science. Social studies has been introduced in class 11 and 12 education system.
