Kulman Ghising is again appointed as CEO of NEA

Kulman Ghising is re-appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Electricity Authority. He will be replacing Mr. Hitendra DeviShakya. Cabinet of Ministers decided to re-appoint Kulman Ghising, they also decided to give appropriate responsibility to Hitendra Dev Shakya on the field of energy and water resources.

Prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba initiates the process of re-appointment of Kulman Ghising under recommendation of Minister of Energy, water resources and irrigation Pampha Bhusal. He was not re-appointed by former Prime minister KP Sharma Oli. People in support of Kulman Ghising has protested on street to see him as CEO of NEA for second time.

Contribution of Kulman Ghising

He was appointed as CEO of NEA on 14 September 2016 for the first time as per the cabinet of Ministers decision. Before that he was managing director of Chilime and Rahughat Hydroelectricity project. His experience in the field of power trade and distribution helps him to solve the decades long load shedding problem of Nepal.

In his earliest tenure as a CEO of Nepal Electricity Authority he has reduced load shedding in Nepal to almost nil. Nepalese use to face 18 hours of power failure. In his tenure, not only he eradicate loadshedding, he also took NEA which was on loss for past several decades to surpass its breakeven with huge profit margin.
